Acupuncture is helpful for pregnant (and I believe most) people. Given the changes in and stresses on the body is pregnancy, acupuncture can be a good fit. Research shows that acupuncture is effective in treating nausea, vomiting, blood pressure regulation, general pain, headaches and migraines & digestive issues. In addition, as pregnancy continues, there are specific protocols to help support energy and wellbeing each trimester and in the lead up to birthing your baby.
Pre-birth treatments with me are scheduled as follows:
36 - 39 weeks: 1 treatment per week
40 - 41 weeks: bi-weekly treatments
Please note: if you are past your estimated due date and facing a scheduled medical induction, plan for acupuncture every other day. Acupuncture does not induce labour; it optimizes internal energy to flow more freely.
